DEAC Meeting 9/30/13

I. Formulate Mission Statement: It is the mission of the MCVSD District Evaluation Committee (DEAC), comprised of diverse stakeholders (internal and external), to work collaboratively to oversee and guide the planning and implementation of the district’s board of education’s evaluation policies and procedures set forth in N.J.A.C. 6A:10-2.3.
II. Decision Making Process: Various methods of decision-models were discussed and it was decided that the group would participate in consensus as a model for decisions/recommendation.
III. Group Composition: Programs in which staff members are not represented are: High Technology High School, Academy of Allied Health and Science, Education Specialist/nurse, and KIVA. Dana Schaed will reach out to administrators of these programs to ask staff for volunteers in the monthly meetings.
i. Membership will be closed, but guest speakers will be invited on an as-needed basis
ii. DEAC members should report back to their ScIP at their buildings and administrators should
allow for an open pathway of communication so the staff knows what is happening at the DEAC
IV. Observation: Lisa will have the tech support team for My Learning Plan possibly add a button which would allow a teacher to add an artifact to a rebuttal to an observation. Number 12 of the Teach FAQ’s will be modified after the Administration meeting.
V. PDP: The form needs to be modified and will be on next month’s agenda.
